Iguana Miss You! By Sandra Boynton
An adorable story tells us just how hard it can be to say good-bye. This books' rhymes helps to demonstrate phonological awareness and knowing letters and sounds.
Dino Duckling by Alison Murray
What a wonderful story about being different and accepted. When a problem arises, Dino's family comes up with a plan. This book helps with narrative skills and telling how stories work.
Both of these books have a variety of words, which will help kids practice talking - an important early literacy skill!

Extend the books with a dinosaur puppet craft!
For this cute dinosaur puppet craft you'll need:
a paper lunch bag
green paper cut into an egg shape
white paper to cut out pointy teeth
larger green circles (about 1.5 to 2 inches)
2 white circles (about 1 inch)
any size smaller black circles for inner part of the eyes
A hole punch or small black circles for the nostrils

Cut the egg shape in half and glue the one half to the flap and the other half to the bag itself. Glue the white teeth to the top flap, and the eye pieces together. Now glue or punch out the nostrils and have fun with your paper puppet!
