Patrons under 18 may only use the Libratory with permission from their guardian; patrons under 14 require the same permission and must be supervised in the Libratory at all times by their responsible guardian. Will someone show me how to use the Cricut? Our staff is happy to show you the basics. We've also prepared a quickstart guide that shows users how to perform many basic functions on the Cricut. What can the Cricut cut? The Cricut can cut many types of paper, cardstock, and vinyl. Patrons must provide their own materials. Only official Cricut materials are approved for use. There is no charge to use the Cricut, but patrons must have a full-access library card and must provide their own materials. Can I send you files and have you cut them on the Cricut for me? No, we do not provide this service. When can I use the Cricut? Using the Cricut is by appointment only. Appointments run a maximum of 2 hours in length. To set up an appointment, simply call the Libratory at (219) 769-3541 ext. 354, or email us at lab@lcplin.org.(mailto:lab@lcplin.org) What kind of files does the Cricut use? The Cricut cuts from .svg files, which are vector-based image files that retain image integrity regardless of the size to which they're scaled. Many programs can create .svg files, but Inkscape (https://inkscape.org/)is free. What are the Cricut's size limitations? The Cricut's cutting area is 12” x 12”.
