World of Worm: Numbers by Esther van den Berg

Worm is headed to the beach! Children will love counting along as they make their way with worm. While reading the story, have your child trace the numbers Worm makes with his body. This is a great way to practice Print Awareness.
After reading the book, ask your child about where Worm started the story and where he was at the end. Retelling a story in their own words helps children practice important Narrative Skills, like beginning, middle, and end.
Expand the Reading: Count Stuff!
Supplies Needed: objects around your house in various quantities.
Place an assortment of objects in front of your child and ask them to count like they did with Worm. You can use things like spoons, paperclips, or even your child's toys!
Allow your child to set up objects for you to count as well. Playing and Talking about numbers are great ways to practice early literacy skills with your child.
