Eddie, a grizzled war veteran, feels trapped in a meaningless life of fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. His days are full of the dull routine of work, lonliness and regret. On his 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in a tragic accident, trying to save the life of a little girl. When he awakens in the afterlife, he learns that heaven is not the Garden of Eden of fairy tales. This thought provoking story will change everything you've ever thought about the afterlife, and the meaning of life here on earth.
