Citizenship Classes

Citizenship Classes: January 15 - March 14, 2019

When: January 15 - March 14, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:00 AM
Where: Merrillville Branch, Meeting Room C

Come learn about what to expect when applying for citizenship in the U.S. We will help you learn the necessary civic information while also improving your English language skills so you can pass the reading, writing and speaking parts of the exam. Students taking this class must have at least intermediate level English-speaking skills (see our English as a Second Language classes).

LCPL is looking for volunteers who are native English speakers and would like to share their language by teaching it as a second language at Merrillville Branch.

We need people who can volunteer to teach three 10-week sessions throughout the year. The time commitment is about 5 hours per week while classes are in session, Monday and Wednesday evenings at Merrillville branch.

If you'd like to help out, just give us a call at (219) 769-3541, ext 337. And thank you!
